William T. Wilson, 84, a long-time resident of Yonkers, died peacefully in Lawrence Hospital on January 30, 2010. He is survived by his loving and caring wife Terry, his daughter Nancy; his sons Bill and his wife Malissa and their daughter Grace; Chris and his wife Suzie and their children Christopher, Jillian and Joey; Steven and his wife Catherine and their daughter Lily; and Ed and his wife Susan and their sons David and Kyle. Born in New York, he graduated from All Hallows High School and Iona College. He served on the submarine U.S.S. Lamprey in WWII and saw action in the Pacific and South China Sea. He worked in finance at CBS Radio for 35 years. He was the son of the late Melvin E. Wilson and the former Evelyn T. Crotty of Galveston, Texas, a place he remembered fondly. Big Bill was an avid golfer and enjoyed many rounds and much fun on the course with his sons and his friends. Visitation will be held at Fred H. McGrath, Bronxville, NY on Monday, Feb. 1, and a funeral Mass will be held at St. Eugene Church, Yonkers, NY on Feb. 2. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
