Catherine Ferris Slavin

Beloved wife of the late Arthur J. Slavin, loving mother of Constance, Deborah and Jean and grandmother of Kristin, Erin, Patrick, Brendan, Ryan and Timothy, sister of the late Helen Neary, the late Nancy McHale and Miriam Walsh.  Born and raised in New York City, she died peacefully in her home in Tuckahoe, NY on May 18, 2010.  She led an exemplary life and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.  We will remember the extraordinary love, kindness, compassion and consideration that she bestowed on all who came in contact with her throughout her life.

Funeral services will be held at McGrath’s Funeral Home in Bronxville, NY from 3 PM to 9 PM on Friday May 21st and a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s Church in Bronxville, NY on Saturday May 22nd at 10 AM.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to the St. Jean Baptiste Scholarship Fund. It  will be a financial aid scholarship for this all girls Catholic high school in Manhattan. (www.stjean.org)
