Scanlon, Donald Patrick, JR.; of Bronxville, NY, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 25, 2010. He was 57. He was the son of Donald P. Scanlon, Sr. and Mary Anna (Connor) Scanlon. Don worked as a limited partner for Bear Stearns from 1977 to 1995 and as Senior Managing Director at Gordon, Haskett Capital Corporation from 1995 to 2009. He was co-founder of the Wall Street Charity Fund and was actively involved in the Lymphoma Society. He was a member of the State Trooper Foundation of New York. He was a graduate of Iona Prep and Villanova University. While at Villanova, he was captain of the Villanova golf team. He created and was president of the Irish-American Golf Scholarship Fund. Don also founded the Villanova Boxing Team and was a Golden Glove contender. On October 15, 1977 he married Daria C. Fugazy at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. They have resided in Bronxville, NY for thirty years. Locally, he was a member of the St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church and Winged Foot Golf Club. Don is survived by his parents, and his father-in-law, William D. Fugazy; by his wife, Daria, and his children, Donald Patrick Scanlon, III (Stefanie), Matthew, and Caitlyn; his siblings, Colleen, Michael, Eddie (Betty), and Luke (Stephanie); numerous other family members and friends. The family will receive visitors at McGrath Funeral Home, 20 Cedar, Bronxville, NY on Wednesday, 6-9 pm, and Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Friday, January 29, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, in Bronxville, NY. Interment will be at Greenwood Union Cemetery, Harrison, NY. Friends may send memorial donations to Calvary Hospital, Bronx NY and Memorial Sloane-Kettering Hospital, New York, NY.
