
John Patrick McCann, who
came to New Rochelle in 1940
from Columbus, Ohio, died at Lawrence Hospital on January 3.
He was 93.
Mr McCann retired from New York Seven-Up in 1975 where he worked for more than 35 years. He was a longtime member of Kiwanis and had served as the president of the New Rochelle Chapter. Mr McCann had been on the Board of the YMCA and owned Beechmont Wine and Liquors in New Rochelle for over 10 years.
He was predeceased by his
devoted wife Christine of 60
years, his beloved sons Tim and
Tom and lovely granddaughter
Mary Christine Boyd. Mr. McCann
is survived by nine of his loving children: Jack, Missy, Jim, Mike, Bob, Bill, Chris, Denis, Brian, and their spouses and by 29 caring grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Jane, Martha, and Ralph of Columbus, Ohio and Tom of Sterling, Virginia. He left us the legacy of love of family.
The family will receive friends
at McGrath’s Funeral Home, 20 Cedar Street, Bronxville, New York, on Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30.
A Mass of Christian Burial will
be held Friday at ten-thirty at Holy Family Church in New Rochelle where Mr. McCann had been a parishioner for nearly 70 years.
