Eileen M. Madden of Bronxville, NY, died peacefully at home on June 6 after a long illness, surrounded by loving family.  She leaves behind her five children: John Patrick Madden, Maryalice Madden DuVal, Eileen Madden Osmolskis and her spouse Paul, Kathleen Madden Baumeister and her spouse John, and Eugene Joseph Madden and his spouse Rene; and ten grandchildren: Andrew and Diana Valcich, Matthew and Jeffery Baumeister, Samuel and Christopher Madden, Paul Osmolskis, Jenna, Tara and Ryan Madden; and two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Olivia Alvaro-Valcich. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA to Frank and Alice Walsh Gaughan on February 7, 1921, Eileen grew up in the Fordham section of the Bronx and was graduated from the College of New Rochelle in 1942.  She married US Air Force Lt. Eugene Patrick Madden in 1944.  She worked for the Federal Bank of New York during the war and later taught school in New York City for twenty-five years. Known for her gimlet wit, her love of and pride in her children, and her steadfast devotion to cocktail hour, she will be missed by all, especially her dear friend and caretaker, Winsome Russell. The viewing will be held at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, Bronxville, NY, on Tuesday, June 8, from 2-4 PM and from 6-9 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, at the Church of St. Joseph in Bronxville, followed by burial at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in. Valhalla, NY.  The family requests that contributions be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, in lieu of flowers.
